Telluride Carts: Electric carts are a great way to navigate Telluride. Please note, these are only allowed in town limits and you must be 25+ to drive.
Rental Car: Cars are not needed during your stay, unless you plan on exploring the region. There are multiple rental car options available, depending on the airport you fly into.

Gondola
Gondola - Transportation
Operating Hours: Everyday 6:30 AM to Midnight
The towns of Telluride and Mountain Village are linked by a 12-minute ride on the free gondola. Passengers can load the gondola in either Mountain Village or Telluride and ride to the midway point (San Sophia) and then continue on to the other side.

Covers the Town of Telluride, Mountain Village, and regional routes to Lawson Hill and down-valley communities. Buses run on fixed schedules, but specific hours and routes vary by season, so checking the official website for the latest information is recommended. Click here for more information.
Flying into Telluride
We recommend flying into Montrose (MTJ) or Telluride (TEX) for all air travel.
Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) is a 1.5-hour drive to Telluride. MTJ is the largest, closest airport with services from most commercial airlines. Shuttles and rental car options are available to get to Telluride easily. Please note, Lyft and Uber rides are not typically available from this airport therefore, we strongly recommend booking ground transportation services in advance.
Telluride Regional Airport (TEX) is a 10-minute drive to Telluride and is small regional airport that offers commercial service from PHX and DEN via Denver Air Connection. It also offers FBO services (KTEX).
Other options are below based on your needs, but are not highly recommended due to longer travel times to Telluride:

Cortez Municipal Airport(CEZ) is a 1 hr 45 min. drive to Telluride
Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) is a 2 hr 40 min. drive to Telluride
Salt Lake City - SLC: 6 hours West of Telluride.
Denver - DEN: 6.5 hours North of Telluride.
Albuquerque - ABQ: 5.5 hours South of Telluride.
